Activity 1: Building a model of the Cassiopeia constellation

We have started to build the electrical circuit for our model of the Cassiopeia constellation.

The students started by inserting the LEDs into the lid of their shoebox.
The special thing about this circuit is that there will be no soldering.
We will only use current conducting materials like aluminium foil.

This requires a lot of attention to detail and patience because there can be many sources of error (false contact, burnt-out LEDs, tape that isolates the electrical current, etc.)
Activity 2: Egg on Mars Challenge
Students are asked to build a lander that will allow an egg to fall from a minimum height of 2m without breaking when it reaches the ground.
Activity 3: Making a 3D model of the Big Dipper constellation
The aim of this activity is to build a three-dimensional model of the Big Dipper constellation using a drawing of the constellation, the characteristics of its main stars, chopsticks, beads, scissors and glue.
The pupils will be able to see that the constellations are only fictitious groupings of stars that are in fact at different distances.
